things my brothers tell me, part 4:

L: I weigh 68 pounds.
G: How much do you think I weigh? Leo’s been eating a lot of snack lately.

G: (Upon seeing me pull out my second season to watch) Oh are we already on season two of Gilmore Girls?

L: (Eating a piece of magherita pizza) Wait, is this mold?

G: (To Noah’s large and gruff friend) Can I have your beard?

L: I might need a bigger helmet. I’m older than him.

G: (during the Olympics) I’m rooting for Norway. If anyone asks, I don’t know why.

L: He wants to watch Parks and Re-creation.

L: (after being served a nice big Belgian waffle) Hello – you have a one-way ticket to tummy town

Me: Your hair is a lot darker now dude

L: Yeah. Call me dirty blonde now.

the story of the terrible awful

WARNING: Images may seem disgusting and disturbing.
And that could very well be completely true.

Last weekend I went home for the short break, and what followed could only be described as "the terrible awful".  While the whole family was occupied in the basement watching American Idol, Jenna and I threw away a batch of homemade oreo's that were much too runny for cookies.  And sitting there in the garbage can, we laughed at the pile that resembled something only little boys should laugh at.  Wanting to create something with this pure genius look alike that couldn't be passed up, we cleverly devised a plan that would surely satisfy all of our laughter. So we craftily molded a piece of dough into a little loaf that could only be mistaken for a half hazardly attempt at pinching it clean and laid it in the wrong spots.  Worried that the twins would possibly foil my plans, I very explicitly explained the instructions to not tell my parents with G responded with a serious, "Whatever it is, I'm in". A few hours went by and we still had not had an incident. As bed time came, I pushed G to lead Dad or Mom to the bathroom to find the little bomb. I thought that he had, but I only found Dad and Brig scolding him for not cleaning up rat poop. He walked out of the room and in his grumpy G way, adamantly threw his hands in the air and said, "I know! I'm getting the toilet paper!!!" and then walked past me and winked and shot me a gun gesture.  Confused and out my main man, I made Brig reveal the secret.
"I need Gus and Leo here, RIGHT NOW!"
"What? Why?"
"Huge poop. On the seat. POOP. On the SEAT!"
And that was all I could have asked for.
But I'm not sure which is more satisfying - the reactions from my parents, my dad laughing for hours the rest of the night, or the pure genius that stemmed from G (side note: he took a piece of the fake poop from the toilet, rolled it into a small rat poop, and placed it next to my dad to trick him into walking into the bathroom to get toilet paper and find the big behemoth). I don't know whether I should be proud of him or scared. Both ways, I still can't stop laughing about it.

things my brothers tell me, part 4

L: I found a new girlfriend actually. She's older and won't leave me for my twin like my old girlfriend did.

G (when I call home): Mario's Pizza, what can I get you?
Me: I'd like a large pepperoni and anchovy pizza delivered to me at school please. Can you do that?
G: No. Sorry, nobody likes anchovies.

L: My friend - she likes sharks as much as she likes bracelets.

G: But I'm a unicorn! Unicorns are never late!

L: Get your mind out of the gutter!
Me: Do you even know what that means?
L: Yes. It means don't think dirty things. Like poop.

G: Did you know that when elves die, they bury them in ornaments?
Me: How do you know that?
G: Because its Christmas.
L: Oh yeah, and if elves die, you can bring them back to life. You just sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on them.
Me: And how do you know that?
L: It's just easy.

Mom (to L, as he is upset that his twin is beating him at bowling): G is never better than you at anything. Let him have his fun.
G: Nuh uh, I am good at art AND origami

G: Come on, I'm the tan one in the family

M (reading a headline on the newspaper): "Best way to start 2014 - Babies"
G: Well, lets buy a baby then.

L: Jenna, this is gonna be easy for you, Does the sun go around the earth or the earth go around the sun? That's too easy. The sun goes around the earth.

things my brothers tell me, part 3:

G (looking at an old and very 90s family picture): Elsa, are you wearing trousers in that picture??
L: Dude, those are overalls.

Noah (after I told him about the new release of the trailer for the movie Noah): Russell Crowe is playing me? Couldn't they have gotten Liam Neeson at least?

Me: Hey, do you like orange juice? Maybe we'll buy you some for your throat.
L: Yes, and I also love polynesian sauce.

G's commentary on a lady's musical number in church:
-Whoa, that was loud. I'm just saying what you were thinking.
-Did she just say enjoy your cake? (It was "in joy or pain")

L: Oh whoa mom, I can feel the comb on my head.
Mom: Yeah, that normally happens.
L: No, like I can feel it through my hair on my head.

G: (talking about One Direction) Harry is the British one
Me: They're all British
G: Well he's the most British. So he's the most cool.

G: (upon farting) Sorry, I can't help it when I'm nervous.

Me: I know that you love sports so much, but they aren't meant for inside, right?
G: Yeah, except maybe pool.

L: Nial's hair looks like Sky's.
G: Sky who?
L: Elsa's friend Sky. Sky Geren.
G: You're just saying that because they both are blonde and have good hair.

G: Its easier for me to remember Harry's last name because its like hair style.
L: Yeah and he has the most hair style.

Can you tell they are a One Direction fandom right now?

things my brothers tell me, part two:

G (to the neighbor's dog): Quiet now, Mrs. Bark-a-lot.

L: You're looking pretty fly for a white guy.

G: These are the three words I used to describe myself: really good farter, smarter than a lot of people, and good at basically anything Chinese.

G (upon watching the Bachelorette preview and seeing Des cry): Maybe that Brooks guy from Utah dies.

G: I wonder why fire is hot.

Mom: L, if you can't stop, you'll have to have a time out in the hall.
L: Mom, I'm 8. I don't do those any more.

G: Did mom get my text yesterday? It was really long.
Me: Whose phone did you use?
G: The house phone.

L: Mom! I know what we can do to have more conditioner when we run out!
Mom: What?
L: Just fill up the bottle with water!

G: I hate Chick-fil-A! If I had to get anything from them, I would get NOTHING!

L (to our family friends): Hey, if you guys stay the night here, we can have cake for breakfast.

G: Justin Timberlake is already married, you can't marry him. Stop living in your dreams.

things my brothers tell me:

enjoy these funny quips from the boys that frequently run this house into the ground with their humor and crazy antics. I know I sure did.

L: Mom is only my mom. all of you are orphans.

Noah: Dinner with the twins > holocaust

G: Elsa, why are your butt cheeks dancing?

L: Well, I didn't really want to do crafts, I was just suggesting it because I know you like them.

G: Oh, is this that show, Downtown Alley? It doesn't sound all that safe.
L: No Gus, its Downtown ABBEY.  Wait which one of these girls is Abbey anyways?

G: I knew you were trouble when you walked in.
Mom: Gus you're middle name is trouble!
G: No, my middle name is DANGER!

G: Ugh Leo why do you always have to tattle on me?
L: Duh Gus, its my job.

G: I'm going to a museum tommorow to see a real live mummy.
Me: I thought mummy's were dead. How is it alive?
G: No, its a real live mummy!

Dad: Leo, I thought we said no soda on Monday nights.
L: Well....I already opened it.

Me: I wanted to be like, I was friends with Carol Mikita a long time ago!
G: What's a Carol? I want one!

Me: G your zipper is down.
G: Yeah, I don't care if my cows get out of the barn.

living with boys

Ah. Boys. For half of my year I spend all my time living with boys,
and they're not just boys-they're brothers.
It was so rudely reminded to me when I went to use the bathroom today.
Remember when THIS happened last year?
Seems a certain younger brother hasn't changed his ways-
only sophisticated it by adding some light reading-
and it seems I won't be able to escape it this summer.

things i'm thinking right now

this whole -10 degree weather has really changed me. i mean, today felt like a warm spring day and it was only 31. yikes.

ya know i was never really a fan of the cute guy that turns into a bratty know-it-all. its like, no one's REALLY that confident.

there's only so many times i can get on pinterest and look at the same pins without getting bored.

i really shouldn't have pizza for dinner at 10 o'clock at night, and even worse, i really shouldn't enjoy it as much as i did. really i'm just bummed that my roommates felt sick after cause i really enjoyed it.

having a pepsi at 10 o'clock however, was NOT a smart idea. although it was my last resort to get rid of the headache that plagued my head and clearly worked, it probably is not going to help me get to bed.

dang i miss those little twin brothers of mine. especially when i only have a day or two left to spend with them, because thats when they want to spend time with me the most.
